What’s up Selfians? After a lot of product bashing in my last few posts, I found something I LOVE ! Read on….
Lip balms come in handy the entire year but they are a necessity during winters. If you don’t moisturize your lips then they can even crack & bleed. I have suffered from cracked lips as a teenager but now I have wizened up!
I have found colored lip balms are ineffective when it comes to winter chapped lips. Lip balms should be soothing and therapeutic and not watered down version of lipsticks. If I need color on my lips, I much rather use a lipstick..THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
After many years of using the wrong (colored) lip balms, I finally realized that Nivea Care lip balms ARE THE BOMB ! I am talking about the ESSENTIAL CARE AND THE CARE+COLOR RANGE. Both the lip balms are pocket friendly when compared to the fancy ones out there which might not even be half as awesome!
NIVEA ESSENTIAL CARE
Don’t let this lip balm’s simplicity fool you because it sure packs a punch! This is the lip balm I use in my CTM (cleansing, toning and moisturizing) routine. I discovered how horrible colored lip balms are when I started applying The Body Shop Born Lippy Strawberry Lip Balm at night. It did a below average job moisturizing plus the skin on my lower lips started turning dark! Thankfully after using this Nivea product consistently, my lips returned to their normal pink color. Phew!
This product smells like a balm and richly moisturizes your lips thanks to jojoba oil and Shea butter! It is the best therapy for moisture hungry lips.It will kinda start melting in the summer heat and it has NO SPF protection which makes it a perfect winter product. YOU NEED ONE OF THESE GIRLS, TRUST ME! And men, this lip balm is perfect for you as well.. no color you see !
NIVEA CARE & COLOR (RED)
This is the slightly colored version of NIVEA ESSENTIAL CARE which contains no SPF either. It is perfect for day time use. It does not moisturize your lips as awesome as ESSENTIAL CARE but it does a decent job. The fragrance is pleasing and not overpowering. It leaves behind a slight reddish tint on your lips which might not be too noticeable. So don’t buy it for the color, because it is not strong enough to tint your lips significantly.
Let me know which lip balms do you love (or hate) in the comment section below.
